After having dined,
a few of us, Lieut. Collier, &c., took a walk into the country about one
and a half miles from our encampment, to one Mr. Chapman's, to eat
water-melons, which we had in great plenty, with the addition of a little good
spirits and water. His water and musk-melons were the best and finest that ever
I saw either in Pennsylvania, Jersey, or any other place.
