[A]fter Visiting
Wilton we went to Lord Radnor's House, about three miles from Salisbury, commonly
called Longfordhouse. It is an Ancient house of a Triangular form Situated very
low on the Banks of the Avon, which affords a most pleasing view from the
House, many fine Paintings are to be seen in it, in which consists it's
greatest beauty, tho' the appearance of the House, is neat and pleasing as are
the Apartments within. The Cathedral at Salisbury is very well worth seeing for
it's curious and Ancient Workmanship, the Pillars are admired for their
peculiar form and smallness, as well as numbers. This Building is very large
and Ancient.
