Journal of Lieutenant William Feltman, June 12, 1781

Took up the line of march at 6 o'clock A. M.; march through a thicket of fine woods, nothing but a foot path, through which we got with a great difficulty, especially our artillery. At last we arrived on the main road leading to Fredericksburgh which I long wish for, and encamped 5 miles from where we entered on the road. (Louisa Co.)—11 miles.
