Diary of Jacob Hiltzheimer, May 29, 1766

Daniel Wister and myself went to the Green to see a £10 race between Joseph Hogg's and John Buckingham's horses.

Diary of Jacob Hiltzheimer, November 12, 1766

Five horses started for the £60 purse. Trial, Merry Andrew, Sterling, Valiant, and a mare belonging to Colonel Armstrong. Trial won the purse.

Diary of Jacob Hiltzheimer, November 13, 1766

Four horses started in the race to-day-Smoker, Merry Andrew, Sampson, and a little roan, belonging to Joseph Richardson. Smoker won.
